Located at 690 W. Belmont is one of the oldest and most beautiful of the Gothic churches in Chicago. It features magnificient stained glass windows, two pipe organs, a full schedule of morning and afternoon mass services including a choir mass. There are many active ministries. Church bells can be heard at 08:30 on Sundays. In 1913, the Indiana limestone church structure was built in the English Tudor Gothic style. Today, Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish is a diverse Catholic community of faith in East Lakeview. The church complex is just a few short blocks from 3150, between Broadway and Halsted.
